Once there was love
Now love is gone
Once there was joy
Now pain remains

I felt the sword piercing through my soul
The day you told me goodbye

The tears that fall
Turn dreams to dust
Turns light to dark
Turns love to pain

For sorrow is a cold and lonely place
And it’s the place I call home

Remember once
When joy was here
Inside my heart
Where has it gone?

For happiness is a place that I once knew
But I can never go back

Till the end of time
I’ll be crying in the dark
Alone
Till the day that I die

For loneliness is the place that I know best
And now it’s the place where I’ll stay
