Poems
Under the Rose Arch
Author: Johan Maltesson
In the Park In Spring
Loneliness in autumn is fine
Even if it’s nice to walk with someone
Among the falling leaves in the pouring rain
I can still handle it
I can handle the autumn alone
Loneliness in winter is fine
Even if it’s nice to cuddle up with someone
As the snow is raging outside in the dark
I can still handle it
I can handle the winter alone
Loneliness in summer is fine
Even if it’s nice to lie with someone
In the sand on the beach as the sun sets
I can still handle it
I can handle the summer alone
But walking in the park in spring
Pains my heart, brings tears to my eyes
When watching the busy nesting birds
Watching the people walking hand in hand
Then the emptiness in my own hand feels the most
I must keep walking through this park alone
As the hymns to love are sung from every tree
While I just long to be nesting too
And I can handle many things
But I cannot handle spring alone
