Summer Night Dance

Please come with me my love, let’s go dancing, dancing
In the bright summer night let’s go dancing, dancing
It gets cool in the grove as the warm sun settles
So let’s keep each other warm in a wild, wild dance
We’ll forget about the world at the edge of the woods

No sorrows here
Let’s go dancing, dancing
No troubles here
Let’s go dancing, dancing
Naked and free
Let’s go dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing

Upon dewy grass in the strawberry thickets
My feet get all wet but your warm gaze warms them
The taste of your lips sets my heart on fire
And neck in the brook takes up his violin
And he starts to play in a magic tune
In the old forest glade where the wild things live

The hulder shyly looks on from behind a tree trunk
As the music and dance is filling the woods
Waking the elves who sleeps by the lakeside
Frightening a poor wolf that’s sneaking away
Such bad manners we show around midnight
Though we invite the trolls to come with us dancing
As we dance with the trolls and the gnomes and the wights
And the hares and the squirrels and the little dormice
And we dance and we dance till the morning hours

Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing

Until we fall asleep upon stones that the sun warms
And…

As the night comes again we’ll go dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing
Dancing, dancing…
